Are you ready for the rapture?Jesus Christ said we are to pray always that we may be accounted worthy to escape the tribluation period and to stand before the Son of Man. (ref: Luke 21:36) When the Apostles preached the Word of God, it demanded a response. No doubt if you are reading this page then you have already read one or more of the articles on this website. Perhaps you have been stirred in your spirit....perhaps you have a sense of fear...wondering whether or not you are ready for the coming of Christ...perhaps you have never ever asked Christ to forgive you of your sins. Whatever the condition of your heart- I want to give you the opportunity now to pray that you may escape the terrible tribulation period that is soon coming upon this earth. Not only is Jesus coming soon, but none of us has the promise of tomorrow. The bible says that our life is merely a vapor that appears for a little while, only to vanish away (James 4:14). Perhaps you think that you have all the time in the world and that you will get right with God......"one day." No doubt hell is full right now of people who had the best of intentions to get right with God "one day." Listen dear friend- you and I do not control the dealings of God. He said in Genesis that His spirit would not always "strive" with man (Gen.6:3). If God is calling you today, then please respond because "today is the day of salvation." Tomorrow's repentance may never come. Did you know that it is the goodness of God that leads you and I to repentance? (Romans 2:4) Did you know that the only way you can come to God is if He draws you by His Spirit? (John 6:44). In other words, man does not determine his own repentance. Repentance is a gift of God (Acts 11:18, II Timothy 2:25) and therefore we cannot control when God draws us. Repentance is more than merely saying "I'm sorry". By nature, repentance is a change of heart and mind-Jesus called it a "new birth" I urge you to come to Christ today because He says that if you do then He will not cast you out (or drive you away)! (John 6:37). So let's consider the wonderful offer that Christ is making to you today. He says that no man can come to Him unless He is drawn by the Father. If you have a desire in your heart to be saved and to escape the coming tribulation-that is evidence that He is dealing with you. If you feel remorse and sorrow for your sin(s) then that is evidence that His Spirit is leading/urging you to repentance. Finally you have the assurance that if you respond to Him- He will not refuse you! (John 6:37 and James 4:8). Your guilt can be erased today because Christ died for your sins so that you might be pure and holy in His sight (II Corinthians 5:21). We can count on the character and the integrity of God. He says in His Word that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9) What are you waiting for? Let us pray out loud together now: "Heavenly Father, I pray to you and come to you now in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. I believe that He is the Son of God and that He died for my sins on the cross and that He was buried and that He was raised again on the third day and that He is alive forevermore! I confess that I am a sinner in need of forgiveness. I repent of my sins- I choose this day to follow Jesus and turn from my sinful ways- I ask you Lord to forgive me of all my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. By faith in the Son of God I receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I confess with my mouth that I am saved because I believe in Jesus with all of my heart- in Jesus' name AMEN!" If you just prayed this prayer (and you meant it with all your heart)- why not send me an e-mail and let me know of your life-changing decision. Remember that you are now a new-creation and that old things have passed away. This is not the end for you but only the beginning. Reading the bible, praying to God, and worshipping with other Christians is essential to your growth and the continuance of your faith. If you need a church home, I encourage you to go to this website and search for a bible believing church in your area. Church locator Now I want to address those who may have lived for God at one time but have backslidden. If you are not following Jesus now- it makes no difference what profession of faith you may or may not have made in the past- the question is: are you following Him today? If not, then you have no such assurance that you will go to heaven (much less be taken in the rapture). You don't need anyone to remind you where you went astray- Jesus says "remember from whence thou has fallen and repent." Go back to the place where you left the Lord and ask Him to forgive you and restore you. Time is running out- no doubt you have had many hardships as you have been under the chastening hand of God. Perhaps you are in a great storm right now- I urge you- I plead with you-repent before it's too late! The same Jesus who saved you in the first place is the very same one who will forgive you now if you will be zealous and repent. Name the sins by name to the Heavenly Father (who already knows anyway-but we need to acknowledge our sins) and ask God for forgiveness- He is faithful! Praise God! It is no accident that you find yourself reading these words today- this is a divine appointment. Don't be like Noah's generation who heard all the warnings but refused to get on the ark of safety. Very soon you and I will stand before God and we will stand before him without excuse. I pray that we might all be accounted worthy and to stand before the Son of Man, blameless at His coming-in Jesus' name-AMEN! |
